Kindred Traditions:
First Tradition: The Veil
The Veil is the most sacred of all Traditions. Through its observance, the Kindred remain hidden from the mortal world, which would otherwise unite against us in fear, ignorance, and hatred.
The preservation of the Veil is of utmost importance, for its failure endangers not merely the offender, but every Kindred within the Domain and beyond.
Any act that knowingly or recklessly exposes the existence of the Kindred may be met with severe punishment. In the gravest cases, the Camarilla may issue a Crimson Decree, declaring the offender an existential threat to the Domain and subject to the Final Death.
Second Tradition: The Domain
Every Domain is governed by customs and laws known collectively as the Rite of Domain. These rites are established and administered by the Camarilla's appointed authority, whether that authority be a Prince, Primogen, or other recognized overseer.
The Rite of Domain shall be presented to all Kindred residing within the Domain, whether their stay is permanent or temporary. Upon entering a Domain, all Kindred become subject to its rites and are expected to observe them at all times.
No Kindred is required to agree with, admire, or even like the appointed authority of a Domain. They are, however, expected to respect and abide by its laws while residing within its borders.
The authority of a Domain exists not for personal power, but to preserve order, protect the Veil, and ensure the continued survival of Kindred society.
Third Tradition: The Progeny
No mortal shall be Embraced without the express permission of the Camarilla. To create a childe without such authorization is a grave violation of Domain law.
Any unauthorized Embrace shall be subject to immediate Camarilla review. Unless extraordinary circumstances warrant otherwise, the newly created fledgling shall be destroyed, and the sire shall answer for their actions before the Domain.
The creation of new Kindred is not a private matter. Every Embrace affects the stability of the Domain, the preservation of the Veil, and the future of Kindred society itself.
Fourth Tradition:
The Accounting
A Kindred who creates a childe accepts full responsibility for that fledgling. The sire is expected to shelter, instruct, and prepare their progeny for unlife among the Kindred.
Until the fledgling has demonstrated sufficient understanding of Kindred society and is formally acknowledged as a neonate, they remain under the Accounting and in the care and responsibility of their sire.
The actions of a fledgling reflect directly upon their sire. Failures of conduct, breaches of the Veil, and violations of Domain law may be judged as failures of both childe and sire alike.
Upon emancipation and recognition as a neonate, the childe becomes an independent member of Kindred society, and the direct obligations of the sire are considered fulfilled, save for extraordinary circumstances requiring Camarilla intervention.
Fifth Tradition: Hospitality
Every Domain possesses the right to determine who may enter, reside within, or be expelled from its borders. A Prince, Primogen, or other recognized authority may extend hospitality, deny it, or revoke it as circumstances require.
Any Kindred traveling to or seeking residence within a Domain is expected to present themselves to the local authority and make their presence known. No Kindred may claim the protections of a Domain while remaining a stranger to it.
By accepting the hospitality of a Domain, a Kindred also accepts accountability for their conduct while residing therein. Violations of Domain law, breaches of the Veil, or acts that endanger the community may result in punishment, expulsion, or other remedies deemed necessary by the appointed authority.
Hospitality is both a privilege and an obligation, granted in good faith and maintained through mutual respect and responsibility.
Sixth Tradition: Destruction
The Crimson Decree, the Lextalionis, is the most severe judgment the Camarilla may issue. Through this decree, a Kindred is declared persona non grata and stripped of all rights, protections, and privileges afforded by the Domain.
The authority to invoke the Crimson Decree rests with a Prince, Primogen, or other recognized authority of the Domain and shall be exercised only in the most exceptional circumstances. It is not a punishment of convenience, but the final remedy reserved for acts that place Kindred society in grave danger.
Such offenses may include, but are not limited to, deliberate or reckless breaches of the Veil, acts of treason against the Domain, repeated and grievous violations of Camarilla law, or conduct that presents an existential threat to the Kindred community.
Once a Crimson Decree has been lawfully declared, the offender's claim to hospitality, protection, and standing within the Domain is forfeit. The subject is thereafter condemned to the Final Death.
